The AirPod Heist

Awhile back I couldn’t find my left AirPod. One thing about me is that my headphones are like a lifeline. They’re how I move through the world on days where existing feels heavier. They give me a bit of cushion from the noise, a way to keep going even when I’m just at home.

When I couldn’t find it, I ordered a cheap twenty-dollar pair to hold me over. I really hoped the brand wouldn’t matter. Wrong. Turns out, I can’t deviate from the AirPod.

Anyway, the mystery was solved when I found out my dog had stolen it. Luckily, he didn’t eat or chew it, just tucked it away neatly in his kennel like some kind of tiny trophy. Honestly, it’s such a dog thing to do, but I still laughed. I would’ve expected this kind of behavior more from my ferret, Frankie. RIP Frankie.

On a completely different note: meal replacement bars are the real MVP when you’re too depressed to cook. The brand I usually buy just came out with a granola version, and oh my god…so good.

All y’all get today is a life update. I’m a little burnt out, and my brain doesn’t have the capacity for deep reflection right now. Which, honestly, is kind of a nice break. Sometimes “off mode” is exactly what’s needed.

I’m really grateful my wife found it while cleaning their bedding and that I get to control the noise level of my environment again. Especially because lately, I’ve been having a hard time with being overstimulated. I’m so excited. I still plan on upgrading to the Pro 3s solely because I read the noise cancellation is supremely better than the original Pros, I just don’t want to drop the money on them right now.

Anyway, that’s all for now. I’ll probably be writing a little less over the next few days or until my brain comes back to life.
